A picture from the 15 September. I'm not sure about this because all the down part of the image looks not much beautiful to me, but that was the first time I saw such post-sunset sunrays and I thought it had to be shared.

This phenomenon was created by the shadows of storm clouds very far away.


Puy de Dôme, France.

These are called crepuscular rays.

Basically crepuscular sunrays are the one that you see facing the sun and anti crepuscular are the ones you see with the sun in your back, at least it's what does wikipedia said :P
Well they are crepuscular sunrays, but what makes them special is the after sunset time ^^

Pourquoi tu ne coupes pas le bas de la photo pour garder uniquement la partie plus "lumineuse" (avec les lumières de la ville) ?

I was just about to ask what you thought caused the rays. I like how shadows can be cast from things under the horizon. Always fascinated me when I learned about light scattering.
